Animals Best Friends is a 501C3 non-profit organization that is run solely by volunteers. We are proud to be licensed in the state of Missouri.
Animals Best Friends (ABF) was started in March of 1995 with 6 volunteers. By July of 2004 the organization was able to purchase a vet's office for their rescue facility. Monthly meetings take place there and dogs and cats are housed there.
We continue to help our community shelter by taking animals to a adoption site at Petsmart in Independence every Sat. and Sun. 12-4. We care for the City's sick cats at our facility awaiting to go to LUV-A-PET at Petsmart.
When an animal is adopted from the Independence city shelter the organization will help provide financial assistant for medical treatment, heartworms, and parvo for the public.
Educate the public on importance of spay/neuter and minimal medical care and treatment of animals. Provide courtesy listing on Petfinder if needing to rehome a pet (pet must be spayed/neutered).
All of our animals are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm prevention given yearly, flea prevention, and micro-chipped . Any health problems are cared for and specialty services used as needed.
